Space and Rocket Center Trip

On Saturday, September 27, the Jeff High Air Force JROTC program took 37 cadets to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  The students enjoyed numerous hands on displays relating to space and the use of rockets.  In addition, they participated in the “GPS Adventures” which was a 2,500 square foot maze where they learned about Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and experienced the thrill of geocaching.  Numerous students flew in the Apache Helicopter and Mission to Mars simulators.  Also, students had multiple opportunities to climb the challenging rock wall and  visited the museums “Rocket Park”.  Finally, the cadets took in a show, “D-Day,” at the IMAX Theater.  Overall, everyone had a fun filled and educational day.
