Curriculum In Action

The Jeffersonville High School Air Force JROTC makes numerous Curriculum In Action (field trips) throughout the year.  These trips directly support as an extension of the AFJROTC curriculum.  The two highlighted trips are to the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama and the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Bataan Death March, April 14th 2017

On Friday, April 14th, Cadets participated in a 14 mile memorial  hike for the 75th anniversary of the Bataan Death March at Rose Island, at Charlestown state park. The Bataan Death March was the forcible transfer by the Imperial Japanese Army of thousands of Filipino and American troops stationed in the Philippines in 1942.

Leadership Conference 2016

On November 1st, 2016, Cadets took part in a orientation about leadership at the Louisville Scottish Rite. Cadets learned about job opportunities, and got the chance to talk to veterans of of the US Military.

Kentucky Air National Guard base visit

On November 9th, 2016, JROTC cadets from JHS went to the Kentucky Air National Guard base at Louisville, Kentucky. Cadets had a walk-through of the base and learned many new things.

Air Force Museum 2016

On November 7th, 2016, Jeffersonville HS JROTC cadets traveled to Dayton, Ohio to visit the United States Air Force Museum.

U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville, AL

On Saturday, September 26, the Jeff High Air Force JROTC program took cadets to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  The students enjoyed numerous hands on displays relating to space and the use of rockets. Numerous students flew in the Apache Helicopter simulator.  Also, students had multiple opportunities to climb the challenging rock wall and  visited the museums …

National Museum of the United States Air Force 2015

On Saturday, November 7, the Jeff High Air Force JROTC program took AS I cadets to the National Museum of the United States Air Force on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.  The cadets also enjoyed seeing static displays of the evolution of air power from the Wright Brothers to the current display of the F-22.  Everyone had a fun and educational experience. …

Space and Rocket Center Trip

On Saturday, September 27, the Jeff High Air Force JROTC program took 37 cadets to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  The students enjoyed numerous hands on displays relating to space and the use of rockets.  In addition, they participated in the “GPS Adventures” which was a 2,500 square foot maze where they learned about Global Positioning System …
